Wendolyn Velázquez Pérez
I am a undergraduate student majoring in marine biology at the Universidad del Mar in Oaxaca, Mexico. Currently, I am doing professional internships at the Institute of Oceanological Research (IIO) with the goal of obtaining a thesis for my bachelor's degree focused on aspects of recreational fishing in Baja California.

Starting in 2021, I began my interests in marine biology and have taken courses on the following topics: Strandings and Rescue of Marine Fauna, Conservation of Sea Turtles, Cephalopod Ecology, Whale Shark: Ecology and Conservation, Ocean Literacy, and the latest one I completed in 2022 was titled 'Pathologies and Clinical Foundations for the Management of Marine Biodiversity.' In addition, in 2023, I was a speaker for the course 'An Ocean of Possibilities: The 7 Principles of Ocean Culture.'

As hobbies, I enjoy art and engage in drawing and oil and acrylic painting. I am a reading and music enthusiast. I participate in water polo and swimming, and I consider myself an adventurous person who likes to explore new horizons, an animal lover, and adrenaline junkie.
