Teresa Tavera Ortíz
I am an Environmental Engineer from the University of Guanajuato, Mexico. I used to work on terrestrial Environmental Impact Assessment, but I always wanted to study the ocean, and to admire its splendor through knowledge. Therefore, I obtained a Master of Science in Coastal Oceanography at UABC focusing on pollution of coastal environments. During this time I got to learn many aspects of the ocean. Currently, I am starting a new experience as a doctoral student at the same university, my proposed project aims to elucidate aspects of the resilience of the red sea urchin fishery that takes place on the Kelp Forest ecosystems of the Baja California Peninsula. I complement my life experiences with those things that connect me with the earth and with other human beings. I enjoy teaching and I like to write and read stories.
